I know we’re all balls deep in this Celtics game on TNT, but if you’re still up for something different at 11:00, head over to ESPN2 and catch the replay of tonight’s ESPN “30 For 30. “
Tonight’s title was “Muhammad and Larry,” which chronicled the 1980 heavyweight bout between a way past-his-prime Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes for the WBA heavyweight title. By all accounts (I’ve never seen the actual fight, and you apparently don’t see a lot of it in this film) Holmes dominated Ali who was just too old and too slow at the time and was beginning to show the Parkinson’s disease that would cripple him in the years since.
I didn’t get a chance to see the debut but I’ll be watching this replay. It’s supposed to be one of the best documentaries in the “30 For 30″ series.
