The Yankees take a 3-1 lead into tonight’s Game 5 against Anaheim. This one’s over guys; it’s NY and Philly in the Series. And it’s also me watching a lot of NHL and NBA games over the next couple of weeks.
So as many of you know, Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Varitek played together at Georgia Tech. Tek was the National Player of the Year in 1994, and he and Nomar led the team into the finals of the College World Series, where they ultimately fell to Oklahoma. Fast forward to around 1:54 for the good stuff.
A few years later they’d be starring in Boston together. Those were the days.
